Why I’m growing a Mo this November

Cancer isn’t an abstract cause for me. It’s hit my family and my friends, and over the past few years it’s taken people I loved. I’ve seen how fast it can turn a life upside down, and how much early detection, good care and honest conversations can change the outcome.

That’s why this November I’m joining Movember. The money raised funds research and support for prostate and testicular cancer, and for men’s mental health and suicide prevention. These issues often go unspoken until it’s too late. Too many men skip the check-up, ignore the symptoms, or keep things bottled up. I’d like to help change that.

The challenge

For 30 days I’ll let my moustache grow like you’ve never seen before. No trimming, no shaping, no mercy. It may be majestic. It may be a crime against facial hair. Either way, it’s going public, and you’ll be able to follow its progress (and suffering) right here.

Share this page. Visibility matters as much as the money.
Look after yourself. Book that check-up, know your body, and check in on the people around you. Sometimes asking “how are you, really?” is enough to start a conversation that matters.
